Longing. Isolation. Desire. Fear. Laura's need to leave her rural home and controlling husband is ignited when love offers her escape and a future. Hunger for a new beginning sets of a chain of events that leads to a profound understanding of her true nature and the place where her history and its ghosts populate the landscape.
The experience of growing up in a rural community contrasts the desire to leave with those strong, mystical ties that keeps a person from moving on. As a production team, we wanted to explore the way immersive staging could reinforce the feelings of social closeness and claustrophobia that go along with being a local.
